Welfare

We do the best we possibly can for all of our Wild Boar.  They are with us for at least 14 months if not longer.

During this time we make their stay as close to nature as possible.

They are allowed to run free and rummage for food as they would in the wild.  They are not over crowded and when they do leave the trip is only 20 minutes door to door.

Wild boar are not farrowed in the same way as pigs.

They make a nest in the field and birth their
own young.

Any complications are very difficult to deal with as the sow is at her most aggressive when protecting her young.

This photo is most unusual. This is one of
three boarlets which where left out in a cold winter wind, just minutes after being born.

All the feed we use is locally produced.  They also have vitamins and mineral supplements.

They do not have any growth promoters or GM products.

They only have medicinal antibiotics when it is absolutely necessary.
